YourTake is a Chrome extension that provides personalized, goal-focused insights from YouTube videos and articles. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our extension.

1. Profile Information (Server Stored) (Stored Locally)
User Goals: Your personal and professional objectives
Role/Position: Your current role or field of work
Areas of Interest: Topics and subjects you want to focus on
Projects: Current projects you're working on

Storage: This information is stored locally on your device using Chrome's storage API. We do NOT transmit this data to our servers.

2. Usage Analytics
We collect anonymous usage data to improve our service:
Extension Events: Installation, side panel usage, content analysis actions
Content Interaction: Which features you use (copy insights, expand sections, rate content)
Performance Data: Analysis success rates and error tracking
Anonymous Identifiers: Randomly generated IDs1 to track usage patterns without identifying you

Third Party: Analytics data is sent to Google Analytics 4 using their Measurement Protocol.

3. Content Access
Web Page Content: We access publicly available content from articles and YouTube videos you choose to analyze
Tab Information: Current tab URL and title to provide context for analysis

Usage: Content is processed locally and sent to our analysis service only when you explicitly request analysis.

Result Management: Delete analysis results anytime by re-analyzing content

Children's Privacy

YourTake is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete such information.
